Another Succecssful Table Cricket Tournament

The term is off to a wonderful start! We have just returned from the first Table Cricket tournament for term2! A small team went to play in a tounament at Newlands Stadium of course. And we returned WINNERS! Our team were the first to win the Table Cricket Spirit Award. We could not be more proud! And the award more fitting.

Let's Pitch a tent and Floaties too...

 

We put all our fun lessons and information gathering about camping to good use and built our own tents and campfires. Although the weather didn’t allow us to fully enjoy our splashtastic day, the learners still had plenty of fun creating and decorating their own swimming pools and floaties. We hope this helped make up a little for the disappointment of not being able to jump in the water 🙂

What's cooking, Chef?

 

The chef's in the senior class whipped up some delicious Spaghetti and sauce today 🍝. Their skills are improving at an astounding pace! Keep it up chef's!

Shooting Hoops

One of our super senior class learners competed as part of the SMJC u/16 Basketball Team. The guys played in a tournament over the weekend. We are so proud of his accomplishments!

Our Birthday Girl is 20! Woweee did we have some excited kids. What more could you want on your special day - huge smiles, delicious cake and even better friends! An enormous thank you for the cake and the spectacular party packs. Everyone went home with a smile!

Science or Magic?

 

We finished off February with quite a bang on an outing to the Cape Town Science Centre. It was an incredible experience getting to explore and enjoy all the different scientific apparatuses, virtual reality, real-life experiments and fun learning that the centre had to offer. Yes it was science but I'm sure we can all agree it came with just a touch of magic too.

Spot the difference

 One of the junior classes highlights is our twice weekly Junior School break. We join their peers in the foundation phase for second break. We are often welcomed by a group of kids, waiting for our visit. Looking from the outside in, I am always amazed to see this inclusion in action. No one is telling them what to do, kids just all speak the same language!

V Day Ball💖💃

 Our senior class learners went into Valentines Day with a bang. They all danced their socks off at the Senior School Valentines Ball. Just look at them! They grow up so fast 😍😎💖💃

Banana Banana! MEATBALL!

 

How it warms the heart to see the learners partaking in a silly little jingle altogether and having so much fun with it. Needless to say, we all felt like meatballs for dinner and maybe a banana split for dessert? 

Water Play

Are you afraid of water? Can you blow bubbles? Teacher Jacqui treated us with outside water play after our art lesson. How did she know this is what we love? Isn't she the best?

Birthday Girl and Class Party

After celebrating your born day, we went straight into party mode and had a ball of a time with class party! A wonderful time was had by all! Seasons Greetings <3 

Carols in the Castle

 

The whole school put on a Christmas show in our legendary castle. We started off the show with Jingle Bells. Well done to those who performed! As usual your presence and energy stole the show!

Braai-Masters, Boerewors and Burgers - The Three B's and what could be better? Maybe Fun, Friendship and Food? The Braai Day was a resounding success with great food and even better company. An enormous thank you to Paul Teubes for donating the meat, rolls, drinks and condiments and for spoiling our learners.

Abra Kadabra... It's MAGIC time!!

 

Today a past learner, Carlo Penso, visited the unit from the School of Magic to put on a spectacular magic show. Needless to say our learners were enthralled and it was such a hit. A huge thank you to Carlo for his wonderful demonstration and for giving us just a touch of magic to brighten up our day.

Watering plants is a vital part of plant care that helps ensure they stay healthy and thrive.

It was an easy day for the juniors, who sailed through taking care of and watering the plants.
