Stir it Up and Fry it Too

 

Can we come for lunch? The Senior Chefs made Chicken Stir Fry and we can personally attest to how delicious it was. Just look at their concentration and focus as they chop up all the goodies and how careful they are at the hot stove cooking it all together. Great Job Chefs!

🎵 Happy Birthday To You 🎵

 

Our Birthday Girl is 20! Woweee did we have some excited kids. What more could you want on your special day - huge smiles, delicious cake and even better friends! An enormous thank you for the cake and the spectacular party packs. Everyone went home with a smile!

Science or Magic?

 

We finished off February with quite a bang on an outing to the Cape Town Science Centre. It was an incredible experience getting to explore and enjoy all the different scientific apparatuses, virtual reality, real-life experiments and fun learning that the centre had to offer. Yes it was science but I'm sure we can all agree it came with just a touch of magic too.

Bigs and Smalls get along after all

The Unit has two classes- they are grouped together by age. We call the older students 'Bigs' and the younger ones 'Smalls'.  

What a pleasure to see how patient, supportive and encouraging the 'Bigs' are,  when there is an opportunity to play with the 'Smalls'

Spot the difference

 One of the junior classes highlights is our twice weekly Junior School break. We join their peers in the foundation phase for second break. We are often welcomed by a group of kids, waiting for our visit. Looking from the outside in, I am always amazed to see this inclusion in action. No one is telling them what to do, kids just all speak the same language! 

See if you can find the special needs kids in this picture...it's really hard to do! They just look like  group of foundation phase learners , making the best of their break time ❤️

 Our students come from all over the world. We love to hear them tell us about the places they have been and some of the things they've seen.

But once they find us, they know that they are finally home.

Photography sessions 📸

 Thank you, Mrs. Piccolo, for volunteering and leading some exciting crash photography sessions with our learners. The enthusiasm is real and we can’t wait to kick things off every Monday!

SARDA

Our SARDA horse riding sessions are back in action! Well done to all the newcomers who started their first session, you did a fantastic job. These sessions are a great opportunity to develop riding skills, build confidence and connect with the horses. 

Fruit Salad

Today in Food Skills, we made a healthy fruit salad. This activity helped us practice essential kitchen skills such as peeling, chopping and slicing fruits safely and efficiently.

Our Senior School Athletics Day was such a vibe, filled with energy and spirited war cries, which showcased the true meaning of sportsmanship. It was a day that fostered a sense of community and school spirit, encouraging everyone to participate and give their best. Well done to everyone who took part!

 

Wisha Washa - It's washing time!

 

When reading and spelling becomes a chore 😜... It's one way to get the kids to do washing! In English we learnt about syllables and how many claps are in a word. Don't be surprised when your child is clapping out ra - coon and e-le-phant while they're helping you with the laundry...
