Honouring our dearly departed

 Eternal rest grant unto them,

O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them.

May the souls of the faithful departed,

through the mercy of God, rest in eternal peace.

 Amen

Our thoughts are with the family of  the beloved Abu Chalo. Your grief is close to our hearts. Peace be with you.

What's your talent?

Some think that talent is exclusive to people with a special spark. In reality, people who we consider to be talented- because of how well they do something- became that because they found their hidden talent spot. They found it because they had the courage to try new things and maintained the confidence to continue, even when they struggled. Optimism was a great help too, because that helped keep all the negative thoughts about their success at bay. You see, a talent normally comes from an activity which makes us happy! So if you haven't spotted yours yet, be patient and persevere!

Today we had our very own talent show and every body had a chance to shine. Please enjoy this spectacular cover, by one of our very own. Shine on you diamond 💥.

Saturday Social

Our social event on Saturday was thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended. It provided the much needed opportunity for our learners to get active while our parents could stand around and chat to one another.
A huge thanks to Vikings Soccer Club for this wonderful initiative.

Doing is an important part of learning

This week we focused on a new topic: 3D shapes. This topic allows many different opportunities for practical explorations. It is so wonderful to see all the 'I can't' leaners get stuck in and give it a go. We all have different strengths and if we listen to the 'I can't!' monster those strengths shy away. Look at this 'I Can!' soldier building an Octahedron.

The Power of Friendship

It's never easy to be new at anything, but if I ever am, I hope I'm surrounded by the love and support of these little stars.

The Cloud Spotters Society

We have just concluded our focus on the water cycle and now we are spending time on a topic very closely tied to that: Clouds, marvelous clouds. Look at us here telling our Cumulus from our Stratus.

Bringing out the best in you

At school we talk about the importance of doing our best in every task which is set for us. As a teacher, it is your job to set the student up to succeed. The better you are at doing this, the more sure you are that you are building up a student's confidence and helping to entrench the skills you are hoping to teach.

At the SNU we take pride in upholding a caring, supportive and intuitive approach. In this way we help develop confident young men and woman who believe  in their own ability to contribute. Just look at this young man's face. His success is written all over it!
