During "Mentor" period today, one of our senior learners opted to play E Games while others favoured the varying physical options. Sure looks like he had fun!

New Friends and Stories? What a Day!

 

WOW! The Interact Club came to read to our learners today and it was a truly special experience. Some firm favourites were chosen immediately by some of our girls, bringing smiles and even a few heartfelt tears to some Grade 9 faces. The fact that they want to come join us for more of our fun lesson times was the icing on the cake! 

These Buns aren't from any Bakery I've ever seen...

 

I'm not sure if everyone phoned each other this morning but the rest of us certainly missed the memo because all these angels swapped their halos for a bun today... And it wasn't even the teachers that noticed it!

Taking Over the... Day (one timetable at a time)

 

Every morning, our junior learners take turns reading the timetable and letting everyone know what's happening in the day - and if the teachers forget... no problem! There’s always someone to step in and remind us. It's a fun little routine we all look forward to.... if the "Pick me's" and "Can I read's?" are anything to go by!

What is it? Is it real? Does it bite/? Nope it's just selfie mode... The camera was just too exciting to resist!

A visit from Br. Vincent from St Henry's

Br. Vincent from St. Henry's Marist School paid us a delightful visit. It's always a pleasure to see him, and we enjoyed sharing gardening tips and exchanging friendly conversation.

Grandparents' Day

Grandparents' Day is always a truly special event in our Unit. The morning began with heartfelt prayers and a beautiful hymn in the chapel, led by our learners. Afterwards, our grandparents joined us in the classrooms for tea, cake, and enjoyable activities. One of the highlights was planting seedlings in the garden with their grandparents. A meaningful and lovely way to end the celebration.

St Michael's Church

Today, we celebrated Mass at St. Michael's Church. Our senior learners participated by reading the scriptures and prayers. After the service, we were treated to tea and biscuits in the parish hall, where everyone enjoyed some time away from school.

25 SNU Reunion

The Biggest Walk and even Bigger Boxes!

 

The Big Walk was a huge success this year. Our Mystery Box stole the show, drawing in many a walker big and small, all trying to figure out what was inside. It was such fun seeing all the learners outside of the classroom and hearing their excitement when they caught sight of us in our bright yellow bibs was fantastic! Thank you to everyone for all your amazing contributions. We are all in agreement that we have the most wonderful parents (and kids) in the school and as such, the best submission to the raffle.

Table Cricket at Vista Nova

 

On Thursday 14 August, we rallied our forces for a spectacular day/competition at Vista Nova competing against the home teams and two other schools. We were even extra spoiled by getting to enjoy the playground at the venue. Needless to say the kids had a whale of a time!

The learners enjoyed story time read by a peer today. We got to work on our reading skills while also entertaining our friends. And who doesn't feel better after a hardy bow and a round of applause?
