Christmas Carols

 Getting us into the festive season.

Season Greetings 🎄🎅🤶

Last night we had a most successful Christmas Play. Our Junior Class featured as part of the Choir in the Foundation Phase Nativity. The school hall was packed to the rafters with parents family and friends, all eager to see their little one perform their part in the production.  Teamwork will help kids communicate with others, increase their social skills and 

self-confidence. 

Spectrum Cooking School

Spectrum hosted their Open Day at the beginning of the month. This was a wonderful opportunity to connect with some of our past learners from the Unit. It was heartwarming to see how dedicated and focused they are in the work environment. 

 

Our kids are always ready to help a friend

Teacher was very impressed to see how well the fine motor activities are going. Here is our class captain using her new found talent of tying shoe laces. Nice work my girl!

 

SARDA Country Challenge 🐎🐎

At the start of this week SARDA invited our parents to come out and see their kids while at work. Lead by Coach Teri and our Beloved SARDA Volunteers, the children showed their mounting and riding skills over a little course set out on their grounds. What sweet event, and unique opportunity to see our kids showcase their strengths and growth. It was proud and exciting moment. Thank you  SARDA

Butterfly Art 💮🦋

Today we prepared our props for next week. We have been learning all about butterflies: facts about them, their life cycle and how they protect themselves against predators. Did you know that the bright colours on a butterfly warn other animals not to eat them? Here, a few Senior Class learners put the final touches on their wings and eye spots.

At the Unit we celebrate every success! Here is one of our Junior class learners showing his completed art to his colleagues in the Senior class how neatly he painted and cut in order to create his master piece. Nice Work !

Baking Cupcakes

 

Today in our Food Skills session, learners worked in groups to follow a recipe. 

They needed to measure the ingredients, problem-solve, mix, bake and most importantly enjoy their final product.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🤶🎅🎄

In loving memory

This morning, in Chapel, the learners lit candles for their loved ones that have passed on...
