Kirstenbosch Gardens Outing

The heat did not stop us from exploring all the beauty that the gardens had to offer! We had a fun day learning about plants and our senses as well as planting our own water-wise seedling. The Boomslang was a bit scary for some but we made it across.

St Joseph’s Marist College has a Special Needs Unit(SNU) that caters for learners that are intellectually challenged with a possibility of a comorbid disability. The learners often experience challenges in the following aspects of; reasoning, problem solving, social interaction and emotional immaturity.

We have small classes and a low teacher to student ratio, which helps to maintain a calm environment where our learners are given the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and learn to the best of their ability.

We are committed to recognizing the value of every individual as being unique and believe they have the capacity to learn and to develop to their full potential.
