World of Birds

Today we visited the World of Birds in Hout Bay.  It was a lovely day filled with much excitement as we saw many different birds, some chicks and other animals including monkeys and butterflies.

SARDA Countryside Challenge

 Lots of fun was had by all our young riders who took part in the Countryside challenge this week at SARDA.

Congratulations!

Mia won an award for her artwork at the Department of Education's art competition which was held at the Iziko National Gallery last term.

It was then exhibited at the Zeits Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.

Welcome back

We hope the short break was enjoyed by all.

Pets as Therapy

Our learners had a lovely surprise when we welcomed Galaxy and Flikker from Pets as Therapy. We were all very keen to interact and ask questions about the dogs.

Standing together to say "Enough is Enough"

Today we stand against all forms of violence in our society.

We mourn with those who have lost loved ones and with those whose innocence 

has been lost in cruelty of violent actions.

We believe that we need to model and teach respect for all people, 

irrespective of gender, age, race, faith or culture.

We particularly believe in teaching our boys to respect all women 

as we raise them to be young men of character who will be role models 

in their families and communities.

Today in food skills we were busy in the kitchen making stir-fry.

Moments in Time

Congratulations to all our learners for their wonderful performance on Friday evening!  Our Moments in Time play production was a huge success!!! Well done to all our learners who practiced for their scenes and made us so proud.  Thank you to all our parents who generously provided props and costumes to help in making the evening a huge success.  Fun was had by all and we loved sharing this special evening with our SNU families.

Today the learners had the opportunity to calculate the totals of their shopping lists which were created for their outing to Pick 'n Pay.

Yunus scored his first goal in the U/19 boys soccer team. The team won 17 - 1 against Hout Bay High.

Visit to the Pick 'n Pay

Today we went to Pick 'n Pay Kenilworth Centre, to find the items on our shopping lists that we created during maths class. 

There was lots of chatting, concentration and fun had by all.

Sunny Day at SARDA

Today Teri played some warm up games with us, we practiced our mount, basic seat, bench and dismount on the drum. We were a bit nervous but had load of excitement mounting Amadeus and practicing our vaulting moves.

We also had a chance to meet two of the dogs today.  Forest is the big ridgeback and Marley is the smaller black one.
